1. Mental Health Essay:
Answer the following questions about the Mental and Emotional Health Unit. Your answers must be in essay form.
1. What kinds of things did you learn?
2. Why are these things important for a person to know or be able to do?
3. How and when will you use what you have learned?
4. How will you be healthier or safer because of what you know or can do?
2. Media Analysis Worksheet
Complete the worksheet, which calls for you to look for stereotyping in the media.
3. Violence and Injury Prevention Pamphlet
Create a “Health Actions Pamphlet” to share what you have learned in this unit with others and help others make safer choices.

Guidelines:
Fold a piece of paper into thirds. Include the following in your pamphlet:
Page 1: Name, Period and Title of Pamphlet
Page 2: Paragraph description/introduction (what is the topic about and why is it important?)
Page 3: Prevention Strategies (how teens can prevent this from happening to them)
Page 4: Community Resources (places teens can go to for help- includes hotlines)
Page 5: Facts/Statistics (how common is this type of violence? Who does it affect?)
Page 6: Sources (where did you get your information?)
You will be graded based on the following:
Creativity and Neatness (5 points)
o Your pamphlet should be colorful, neat and organized
o Follow the outline given to you and make sure all pages are clearly labeled
- Paragraph Description/Introduction (5 points)
Should define and/or explain the topic and/or its importance
Facts/Statistics (10 points)
o Your facts must be accurate (two points per fact)
o Use the websites on the blog to find accurate information
Prevention Strategies (15 points)
o Your prevention strategies include practical things teenagers can do to reduce their risk of unintentional injury.
o Must be based on factual information.
Example: Prevention Strategies for Sexual Assault: Don’t drink: 50% of victims and 75% of perpetrators were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the sexual assault.
o Do NOT repeat facts
Community Resources (10 points)
o List three resources students can use for more help, counseling or assistance. This can include hotlines, websites, clinics or other resources.

4. Goal Setting Project
Part 1- Goal Setting Goal

Part 3- Assessment
